Brava: Community of Mato welcomes health fair in the locality
Residents of the Mato area considered the initiative of the Sustainable Brava Foundation and the Brava Health Department to hold the health fair held in the area today as “commendable”.
Speaking to Inforpress, Aida Cardoso, a resident of the locality indicated by a local group to position herself as a spokesperson, considered this activity “very good”, because, she explained, in Mato the population does not always have access to health care. health in the area.
According to the resident, the village does not have any Health Post or Basic Health Unit (USB), meaning that many people do not seek health services because they have to go to the center of Nossa Senhora do Monte, where there is a USB or to the city of Nova Sintra to make an appointment at the Health Department.
Even chronic patients, in this case hypertensive and diabetic patients, according to Aida Cardoso, are controlled by their own children or family members who understand a little about this matter, noting that these patients often do not go to the police station on the day they have appointments scheduled.
Therefore, he continued, with this fair held in the area, the amount that they would make available for transport until they arrive at the police station will be channeled towards the purchase of the drugs prescribed today.
Aside from the consultations, he highlighted that the information given during these activities was of “great value”, as they had the opportunity to take an HIV screening test, blood glucose and blood pressure measurement, and also various information that was conveyed.
Even so, he pointed to the “great work” that the Sustainable Brava Foundation has already started with the Mais Saúde program, which has allowed people to be more informed and aware of the steps they should take to prevent instead of cure.
On behalf of the organization, Mariazinha Gomes, coordinator of the Mais Saúde program and mentor of the initiative, revealed satisfaction with the participation of the public.
In all, he announced, there were 12 medical consultations, 26 nursing consultations with blood pressure and blood glucose measurements, 22 HIV tests and 11 malaria tests.
According to the same source, this concern to bring health to the most distant locations that do not have any health structure is a preventive measure that will help a lot in the health of the people of Brave.
And, in this locality, he stressed that it was programmed within the scope of the festivities of the patron saint, Nha Santana (Santa Ana), in partnership with the Health Department, Delegation of the Ministry of Education and the Municipality of Brava, an initiative that as evidenced will continue to this and other locations.
