This year, Brava City Council assumed responsibility for the Flag of Nho Sandjon to celebrate on June 24, 2021, involving all the rituals that the Flag entails.

The information was given to the press by the mayor, Francisco Tavares, who took the opportunity to make a “positive assessment” of the Eucharistic celebration held today, in honor of the patron saint of the island.

The mayor highlighted the organization of the same, stressing that according to what was witnessed, he believes that “the indications were fulfilled”, giving life to the feast of the patron saint of the island, “within a context of many restrictions and very particular”.

According to Francisco Tavares, for many years the city council did not feel the need to take over the Flag, because there were always individuals to take over the festivities, but, he underlined that this year, because of the “uncertainties” no individual appeared, hence the council took over this mission.

With this “responsibility”, the mayor explained that he asks God and specifically Saint John the Baptist to help everyone move forward to reach next year in a “totally different” world in which the new coronavirus pandemic is part of the past.

“May the saint bless us all, give us love for our neighbor, so that we can see our life here on earth as a passage, choosing to do the most and the best for the good of all”, concluded the mayor.
