The opening of the traditional tents, scheduled for this Saturday, June 3rd, kicks off the movements for the municipal and São João festivities, on the island of Brava, celebrated on the 24th of this month.

The information was provided to Inforpress by the mayor of Brava, Francisco Tavares, explaining that normally the tents last for a month, but that this year they will last for a few more days, this being the first announcement of the parties celebrated on the 24th.

For this year, Francisco Tavares announced that 12 stalls are going to be opened, although they had requested many more, but space does not allow for more than that.

Before the opening, the same source informed that a meeting was organized with the owners of the tents and with other members who will work linked to the tents, in order to receive some information and awareness messages, so that everything can run within the legal parameters and without major incidents.

In the space, as he listed, there are public bathrooms and a team that will work on the issue of sanitation, but even so, he asks society to engage in keeping the space organized and clean, as there will be containers available on site.

Regarding the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages, the mayor made it clear that he will continue with the rules established by law and put into practice every year, prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors under 18 years of age, as well as in glass bottles on the sports grounds during the festivities.

At the opening of the tents, a musical show is scheduled, and to celebrate these festivities on the 24th, various other activities will also be carried out, of a cultural and sporting nature, with a view to brightening up the biggest festivities on the island, which are celebrated on the same day.

For some events, Francisco Tavares announced that they will be in charge of organized private groups that will also have the support of the municipality.

From the programming of the activities of the delegation of the Cape Verdean Institute for Children and Adolescents (ICCA) to Brava, actions have been scheduled in partnership with other institutions to monitor the location to ensure that no child is attending inappropriate places.
