Brava: Police call for greater attention from people during the rainy season to preserve physical integrity and life

The head of the Brava Police Station, Higor Almeida, today appealed to the population to be more cautious in this rainy season, as a way of preserving physical integrity and life itself.

Higor Almeida made this appeal in an interview with Inforpress, regarding two incidents with fatalities over the weekend.

According to the head of the Police Station, last Saturday, they received a call at 07:00 am, announcing that there was a body in a stream in Pedra Molar, parish of Nossa Senhora do Monte and that, according to information found on site by the team, the individual from the male, aged 44, had left a few days before to work and had not returned.

Having learned about the case, he added that the legal procedures were followed, with the District Attorney of Brava, the Health Police, where, Higor Almeida informed that according to the medical report, the cause of death was severe head trauma.

On Sunday, he added that there was also a case in the town of Baleia, although, he stressed that it was of a different nature, since, in this case, they received a call announcing that there was a male individual, aged 45, lifeless, inside from his residence, the competent authorities having gone to the area, confirmed the fact and the medical report indicated that the cause of death was an epileptic attack.

“Taking into account the time of year we found it and because the island is mountainous, a large number are dedicated to grazing and agriculture, the tendency is to resort to distant places and often difficult to access to find better pasture”, noted the person in charge. .

Faced with this observation, Higor Almeida asks people to take the utmost care, since in the rainy season the floors are slippery and there are places where there are some erosions.

The same source pointed out that this appeal comes in the course of the difficulties faced in removing the corpse on Saturday, in a place of difficult access, where it was necessary to seek support from people who already knew and had mastery of the path, so that they could reach the place and return safely.

He even suggests to people that, when they are absent, they inform someone from the neighborhood or family members where they are going, and if there is any delay, they can call the authorities requesting support.
