On Friday, the 20th, the mayor of Brava distributed the portfolios among the elected councilors in the 25th of October municipal councils, with responsibility for General Administration, Institutional Relations, Cooperation, Tourism, Civil Protection and Economic Development.
According to Francisco Tavares, at the first ordinary meeting of the city council executive, in addition to the assignment of departments, “various matters” were addressed, which he did not specify, given that councilwoman Ivone Cardoso was assigned the department of Social Affairs, Health and Gender Equity .
The portfolio for Internal Organisation, Infrastructure, Urbanism, Housing and Sanitation is with councilor Danilson Andrade, and Culture with Edna Oliveira.
The Education, Training, Youth and Sports department was assigned to councilor Mário Rodrigues.
With this distribution, Francisco Tavares advanced that in the 2020-2024 term only the councilor responsible for Culture will work part-time, thus explaining the reason for receiving only one area.
The same source also advanced that he intends to propose another portfolio to the aforementioned councilwoman, but which will still be discussed and approved in the Municipal Assembly.
The other councilors will work full-time, which will allow the team to “better perform” its functions, taking into account that in the previous mandate all four councilors worked part-time.
Francisco Tavares was convinced that the city council team has a lot of work ahead of them, but certain that his team will “take care of everything”, counting on the partnership of Braveense society and other entities that can support them in the mission.
