Speaking to Inforpress, the Brava mayor stated that there is a notable lack of police personnel on the island, which calls into question the good performance of the corporation in Brava.

According to the same source, at the moment the municipality has fourteen staff including the squadron commander, but two of them are more closely linked to the Furna port area and two more are on leave, which adds up to nine agents on the ground to carry out the three shifts.

Francisco Tavares explains the need for more staff in the municipality, as they have already placed new Second Class Agents, trained in the XI PN Course, who, according to the same Brava, received three police officers who came to replace the three who were transferred. .

In this sense, the mayor states that this placement will not solve the problem and, therefore, is only replacing the agents who were transferred.

According to this official, the Government needs to see the possibility of increasing the number of personnel, so that the police can act and be more present, especially in locations further away from the center of the municipality, particularly in the parish of Nossa Senhora do Monte, Cachaço and Lomba Tatum.
