Brava: Psychologist calls on students to work on mental health with physical activities, reflections and ideas
The psychologist from the Brava Health Department today appealed to students at Escola Secundária Eugénio Tavares (ESET) to work on their mental health with physical activities, reflections and ideas that can help improve well-being.
Adilson Bango was speaking to Inforpress after an open conversation held at Escola Secundária Eugénio Tavares, where he highlighted that the talk is part of World Mental Health Day which is celebrated today and warned about the risks to which everyone is subject.
As further informed, this lecture is a program of the National Directorate of Health (DNS) and the National Directorate of Education (DNE), which, therefore, is being held at national level, with 11th and 12th year students, whose The aim is to sensitize teenagers in this age group to be more careful and attentive to their mental health.
“We call for attention to the issue of the risks that can lead to the development of a mental illness. The conversation was one of debate, where the students themselves reflected on their behaviors and attitudes”, he highlighted.
The person in charge considers it to be “extremely” important if educational institutions promoted activities of this kind more often, linked to mental health, because there is a lot of prejudice and myth surrounding the subject.
For her part, student Cândida Oliveira stated that she was adequately informed on the subject and that they also need to be more “cautious” with people who suffer from this type of problem.
“According to what I learned today, there are several factors that cause this type of problem for a person, and we as colleagues must support, advise and also not be demotivated by things that we can overcome ourselves”, he declared.
Cândida Oliveira said that she is taking very good care of her mental health, because she had a friend who had an anxiety problem and as a result she realized that she needs to be more cautious in her personal life.
