Brava: School year starts smoothly and in a normal climate

In a tour carried out today by Inforpress, at some schools in the municipality, it was possible to observe the normal functioning of schools on this first day of classes.

In Nova Sintra, where parents accompanied their children to the Manuel Rodrigues Gomes School belonging to group 01, in order to hand the children over to their respective teachers and to meet the new teachers, in case of any changes.

The euphoria of the students' meeting was so visible that not even parents could control their children when they saw their classmates shouting from afar or running towards them. Inside the classrooms, each teacher demonstrated to parents and guardians the objectives and expectations for this new academic year.

According to the person in charge Josefina Vaz, everything started as planned, highlighting that on this first day of school, students and parents and guardians were already introduced to their teachers and the room in which they are integrated.

“Teachers have already had their first contact with parents and guardians and made presentations, so tomorrow we will start the normal day as this first week is civic”, he assured.

At Escola Eugénio Tavares the atmosphere was no different, although the students were already older, the noise in the courtyard could be felt from afar and the students said they were “motivated and prepared” to face a new year and, at the end , “achieve your goals”.

The director of Escola Secundária Eugénio Tavares (ESET), David Pascoal, informed that the first day started normally and without any surprises and that this week will be a “civic week under the motto climate action”.

“We have already opened the flag state and now we are organizing with the students here in the auditorium, clarifying the objectives for this week of work, as everything else is normal and we are starting in a serene and peaceful atmosphere”, he assured.

David Pascoal also highlighted that ESET, which operates in the morning, will have approximately 300 students between the 9th and 12th years, while in the afternoon, which also operates the second cycle of basic education at the Sena Barcelos school, they will have “around 10% of the population of Ilha Brava”.

For her part, the head of the basic school of Nossa Senhora do Monte (EBNSM), Ana Lobo, belonging to group 02, assured that everything started normally without any problems and added that the group will initially receive around 420 students from 1st to 8th grade. of schooling.

The 2022/23 academic year began today in all schools in the country and, according to the Minister of Education, Amadeu Cruz, around 130 thousand students, from pre-school to secondary school, will return to classes, with 28 thousand enrolled in Secondary Education (ES), 17 thousand in pre-school and the remainder in Compulsory Basic Education.
