The authorities suspended, on Saturday afternoon, the search to find the 40-year-old man, known as Paulo, who disappeared in the sea of Brava this morning.
According to information advanced to Inforpress by the sub-chief of the Brava police station, António Moreira, the searches were suspended around 2:00 p.m., adding that according to advanced information from the divers, the sea had dragged the young man far and at great depth.
The same source explained that, at this moment, the divers do not have all the necessary conditions to continue the searches. These will resume this Sunday, with divers equipped with oxygen bottles and in conjunction with other local divers.
In addition, the authority reported that the sea has poor conditions, with strong waves and poor visibility.
The individual named Paulo, in his 40s, according to police information, went fishing with a colleague and was surprised by a wave.
It should be remembered that at the beginning of the year, the island was shaken by the disappearance of two brothers at sea, where the body of one of them was found and the other remains missing until then.
These two brothers were accompanied by their cousin, who was the only survivor of the tragedy.
