Cabo Verde Airlines Expands Capacity on Domestic Routes with ATR72-600

Cabo Verde Airlines has increased capacity on domestic routes with the reintroduction of the ATR72-600 through a wet-lease agreement with Air Sénégal.

Cabo Verde Airlines (VR, Amílcar Cabral International Airport) increased its capacity on domestic routes by reintroducing an ATR72-600, renewing the wet-lease agreement with Air Sénégal (HC, Blaise Diagne International Airport), according to data from the ADS-B.

The 6V-AMS plane (msn 1447) resumed flights between Praia, Sal Amílcar Cabral International and São Vicente on July 22, according to ADS-B data. The airline announced on July 19 that it would be adding a third aircraft to its domestic fleet. A previous three-month ACMI contract between Air Sénégal and Cabo Verde Airlines ran from 18 February to 22 May.

The Cape Verdean flag carrier also wet-leases an ATR72-500 from Global Aviation (Mauritania) (MSS, Nouakchott) and a DHC-8-Q300 from CemAir (5Z, Johannesburg OR Tambo) for use on domestic routes.

In addition, the airline is dry-leasing a B737-700, D4-CCI (msn 34559), from TAAG Angola Airlines (DT, Luanda 4 De Fevereiro) and a B737-8, D4-CCJ (msn 60432) , from Aergo Capital. These narrow-body aircraft operate international routes between Cape Verde and Lisbon (Portugal), Paris CDG (France) and Milan Bergamo (Italy), in addition to domestic routes between Praia and Sal, according to ADS-B data.
