A new report from International SOS, a leading security and health risk services company, has ranked Cape Verde as one of the safest destinations in the world to travel to in 2025. The publication, part of the annual Risk Map 2025, highlighted political stability and low crime rates as key factors in the archipelago’s inclusion on the list of countries with negligible security risk.

The report assesses risks across four main areas: security, health, climate and mental health, ranking countries into five risk levels, from negligible to extreme. Cabo Verde, along with other island countries such as the Seychelles and the Marshall Islands, was praised for offering peaceful and safe environments for tourists.

Cape Verde’s political stability has been a hallmark of attracting visitors seeking reliable and welcoming destinations. In addition, the islands’ natural beauty and rich local culture make the archipelago an attractive location for both tourism and travel investment.

In contrast, the report warned about high-risk destinations such as Libya, Afghanistan and other countries marked by conflict and unstable governance.

Cape Verde now joins an elite list of safe destinations, including Scandinavian countries such as Iceland and Norway, renowned for their effective policies and high-quality emergency systems.

For those planning to travel in 2025, Cape Verde appears to be an ideal choice for those seeking tranquility and security in an increasingly unpredictable global scenario.
