Carnaval/Brava: Pre-School Parade welcomed Shrovetide to “Island of Flowers”

Children from kindergartens took to the streets of Nova Sintra and Nossa Senhora do Monte, in Brava, today, celebrating Carnival, with a basic parade, so as not to spend the season blank and to mark the post-covid recovery.

Speaking to Inforpress, the Pre-School coordinator on Brava, Vanusa Monteiro, explained that after so much turmoil with covid-19, this is the year of recovery, hence, they decided to bring together the island's kindergartens, in Nova Sintra, and only Jardim Cardeal de Nossa Senhora do Monte did not come, because it decided to brighten up the streets of its parish this year as well.

The other gardens gathered in Nova Sintra, and each one with the costume of their choice, accompanied by parents and guardians, as well as the monitors and guardians of the gardens, took to the streets singing and samba dancing, also arousing the curiosity of the people of Brave. who joined the group to have fun.

According to the same source, taking into account the difficulties that society and the world have been experiencing since 2019, the assessment is positive, especially with regard to the participation of parents, who, even leaving their jobs for a few hours, accompanied children in this mission to bring joy to the streets of the island and say hello to Carnival.

In this regard, the Preschool coordinator assured that next year they will have the opportunity to organize themselves and take to the streets as usual, with a theme, specific costumes and everything they used to do.

To continue the parades, the Basic School of Furna will take to the streets on Saturday and the Compulsory Basic Education schools have a meeting scheduled for next Monday, the 20th.

In terms of the official parades for Tuesday, 21st, the island only has one official group this year, the Grupo Carnavalesco da Furna.
