Speaking to Inforpress, Joaquim Gonçalves resident in the parish of Nossa Senhora do Monte, highlighted that for days he has been moving from his locality to
city of Nova Sintra, with the aim of raising the money that was sent by family members living abroad, but so far without success.
“Every day we arrive at the Post Office very early, however, we are left here on the street without the service we came to request and they do not give us any information as to whether we will receive the money or not. To leave my locality I pay for vehicles to take me to the city, and today they said there is no money, tomorrow it's the same thing and from then on, I'll just have to pay for travel transport”, he complained.
“Our families have already sent money, we are not asking anyone for a favor, as the service has already been paid for and now the Post Office has an obligation to give us our money back”, he added.
According to the same source, the information they are receiving is that the Post Office in the city of Praia has not yet made the money available, however, they questioned how the amount was not made available, if family members abroad have already deposited the amounts and have already paid for the service.
“I don't know why on other islands, people don't have difficulty receiving money through Money Gram services, at the Post Office. This abuse is only in Brava, as this must stop, every day is the same thing, in the end the money will only be spent on transport costs”, he complained, appealing to those who have the right to resolve the problem as soon as possible. .
In turn, Ana Paula Barbosa, who also shares the same opinion, complained that the situation is not at all pleasant, taking into account that many people travel to the city early in the morning, spend the whole day at the Post Office and are still unsuccessful in the survey. of your money.
“Their excuse is that they don’t have any money and then we sit here until late without any information. There is also another problem, when the amount that will be withdrawn by the customer is above 50 thousand escudos, they do not make the payment and always tell the person to come back the next day”, he highlighted.
In this sense, he concluded that it was a lack of respect for customers who pay for the service and are not served in the best way.
Inforpress tried to hear from the head of the Post Office in this municipality but she said she was not authorized to talk about the matter.
