Brava - The Brava District Court on Sunday ordered the pre-trial detention of a 17-year-old suspected of involvement in drug trafficking crimes. The decision was taken after the first judicial interrogation, conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office, following the suspect's arrest on Saturday.

According to a police source, the operation resulted from the execution of a home search and seizure warrant, which culminated in the arrest of two individuals: the 17-year-old and a 15-year-old minor, both male. During the operation, the authorities seized 3,970 grams of dried herbs known locally as "padjinha". The two were caught red-handed.

While the 17-year-old will remain in pre-trial detention, the 15-year-old was given an alternative precautionary measure and sent to the Orlando Pantera Socio-Educational Center, located in the city of Praia, for follow-up.

In a separate case, last Thursday, the same court handed down pre-trial detention to two 18-year-olds living in the town of Nossa Senhora do Monte. They are accused of burglarizing homes and commercial establishments, reinforcing the local justice system's recent actions against crimes in the region.

The authorities continue to investigate both cases, while the community follows the unfolding of these arrests.
