Court orders preventive detention for father of student who injured classmate with firearm

This information was provided to Inforpress by a judicial source, who said that the father and the minor were presented this afternoon to the Public Prosecutor's Office, to the first judicial interrogation, having applied the abovementioned coercive measures.

The teenager's guardian will await trial in the civil prison on Fogo Island, while the minor will be taken to the Orlando Pantera Socio-Educational Center, in Praia.

Last Thursday, the 14-year-old teenager accidentally fired a gun at his friend, injuring him in the neck, who was immediately taken to the São Francisco de Assis Hospital in Fogo.

According to information from the doctor, at this moment the victim is out of danger, however he was again transferred to the Agostinho Neto University Hospital (HUAN), where he will undergo surgery to remove the bullet that is lodged in the neck region.
