The mayor of Brava asked residents to comply with the measures issued by the Government to combat and prevent covid-19, advancing that after a pedagogical approach, some measures will be taken.

Francisco Tavares made this appeal in an interview with Inforpress, lamenting some situations that have taken place, mainly in front of some institutions and in the natural pools of Fajã d´Água.

According to the mayor, all the efforts of the Government, the City Council, the institutions will only be worth it if each citizen becomes aware and does his part.

With the implementation of the project to combat and prevent covid-19, Francisco Tavares said that the municipality and the intervention team will start to assess the frequency of people and, if necessary, limit the capacity of access to the pools. from Fajã d´Água.

In case of non-compliance, he underlined that coercive measures will be taken, together with the national police, ranging from fines and fines or other measures if they do not repeatedly comply with the measures issued by the Government.

Initially, he stressed, a first contact will be made for information and awareness, but in a second approach, some measures will be taken.

And, according to the same source, this appeal extends to the staff of commercial establishments, restaurants, bars, public transport, among other sectors.

The head of the Municipal Civil Protection Service, António Marcelino, also reinforced the awareness message, asking citizens to try to adapt to the new reality, complying with the long-announced prevention measures.

Regarding the beaches, he stressed that access to them has already been released, but recalled that there are some restrictions.

Hence, he pointed out that it is not only the responsibility of the Civil Protection, City Council, National Police, but of all, because this is already a task of the entire civil society.
