The Brava Health Department today submitted 61 people from the parish of Nossa Senhora do Monte to the test for the screening of covid-19, within the plan that has already been in place since last week.

To Inforpress, Paloma Fernandes, the doctor responsible for the field team, said that the 61 tests applied were negative for covid-19, which for the team is always a “victory”.

According to the same source, the tests were applied in the localities of Furna Nossa Senhora do Monte, intending to carry out the same process in Vila de Nova Sintra this week, justifying that these are the centers that gather the largest number of people.

With the tests carried out today, there are 124 people undergoing the screening test and all with negative results.

Upon arrival of the boats, the doctor said that there is a group that controls passengers at the Furna pier, carrying out a detailed screening of each passenger, as a way of trying to control the situation and reduce the possibility of the virus entering Brava.

Therefore, a “fight for all”, the professionals of the Health Department ask the population to support this fight, complying with the rules issued by the Ministry of Health.

According to the latest updated data, the country has 553 active cases, 4674 recovered, 52 deaths, two transferred and a total of 5281 accumulated positive cases of covid-19.

The covid-19 pandemic has already caused at least 961,531 deaths and more than 31.1 million cases of infection in 196 countries and territories, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December in Wuhan, a city in central China.
