The person in charge of the Municipal Civil Protection Service, António Marcelino, assured that the island's beaches are already properly marked with signs where bathers are allowed, as well as those prohibited until further notice.

This person in charge made this statement in an interview with Inforpress, where he spoke about the actions carried out by the service, as well as those that are about to start, in the face of the covid-19 pandemic.

According to the same source, after placing the signs, inspection and support will begin for areas that are authorized for bathers, which, as it said, are only Cadjetinha beach and the natural pools of Fajã d´Água.

On the prohibited ones, he informed that they were also marked with prohibition and interdiction signs and during the weekend and in the post-work period from Monday to Friday, these beaches will also be supervised to prevent them from being frequented.

In terms of the actions they have taken, he advanced that they continue with the disinfection of cargo on the arrival of the ships, which was a process that started during the state of emergency, but they have not yet suspended it because the covid-19 is still active.

Also, he added that they had already started a survey of risk areas, population concerns, among other actions, to update the preparation plan for the rainy season.
