The official underlined that the local Civil Protection team is already prepared to do everything within its power and in accordance with its areas of intervention to respond to any needs.
According to the same source, Civil Protection will continue to work in partnership with the other institutions on the island involved in this fight to combat and prevent the pandemic, mainly with regard to raising awareness among the resident population and passengers arriving on the island.
For António Marcelino, it is necessary to “adopt new measures and do everything to guarantee the protection of the populations, but noted that they must be aware of their role in this fight.
“For this awareness, it is necessary to work on raising awareness day after day”, stressed the official.
Since the period of the state of emergency, recalled the same source, the Municipal Civil Protection Service and some partners have been working on the issue of raising awareness in society in general, in addition to the control and disinfection of goods entering the island, work that will be “continuous” until the situation improves.
For passengers arriving on the island, this official asks for the “maximum care possible”, to follow the instructions and to be “responsible”.
Likewise, it asks the resident population to follow the measures and restrictions issued by the Government, in order to keep the island free of the virus.
