The Brava Health Department has already carried out screening tests for covid-19 on more than 200 people, who were negative, in addition to the control carried out at the Furna pier, upon the arrival of passengers on the island.

These tests, according to information advanced by the doctor Paloma Fernandes, responsible for the team on the ground, are to carry out a screening on the island, in order to have a “sense” of the state of people in this pandemic, taking into account the entry and exit of people.

According to the same source, they had already carried out about 60 tests in the town of Furna, plus another 63 in Nossa Senhora do Monte and today they carried out 105 tests in Nova Sintra, all of which were negative.

With the start of classes, the doctor said that fear is raised a little more, but says she believes that all the guidelines have already been passed, both to parents and guardians, as well as to students, in order to prevent themselves.

“Of course, with so much time apart, the desire is to hug, to be very close to each other, but we appeal to parents that it is necessary to talk to their children, explaining to them that they need to wear masks, avoid crowds so as not to aggravate the situation, if any case arises”, highlighted Paloma Fernandes.

Upon the arrival of the vessels, the doctor said that there is a group that controls passengers at the Furna pier, carrying out a detailed screening of each passenger, as a way of trying to “control” the situation and reduce the possibility of the virus entering Brava. .

Even without positive tests, the doctor again appealed to everyone to do their part, because although they are seeing the negative results, “it does not mean that the virus has not yet arrived or that it will not reach the island”.

The person in charge reinforced that it is “crucial” that every Brave citizen continues to follow the requirements left by the health authorities, that they avoid “mainly” crowds, parties, among other behaviors, at least while the country and the world are in this fight.

According to the latest data updated today, the country has 725 active cases, 5338 recovered cases, 61 deaths and 2 transferred, making a total of 6126 accumulated positive cases.
