Covid-19/Brava: Eugénio Tavares Secondary School resumes classes after two weeks closed

Eugénio Tavares Secondary School resumes classes this Wednesday, after having been closed for two weeks, due to the appearance of two cases of covid-19 in the educational establishment.

The school board confirmed the resumption of classes for Wednesday, 28th, and called on students and teachers to comply “to the maximum” with health measures and standards.

Health authorities had ordered the temporary closure of the school on the 15th, after diagnosing two positive cases of covid-19.

The suspension of classes for the two weeks took place in accordance with the guidelines of the health authorities, the Ministry of Education and the school's contingency plan, aimed at preserving the health of the educational community.

Brava's Health delegate, Júlio Barros, told Inforpress today that at this time the island already accounts for 12 accumulated cases, five recovered and seven active patients.

He took the opportunity to alert the educational community and parents and guardians to comply with the rules and, if they experience any symptoms, to seek the services of the Brava Health Department.

Cape Verde currently has 777 active cases, 7,599 recovered cases, 94 deaths and two transferred, making a cumulative total of 8,472 infections since March 19.
