Covid-19/Brava: Edil argues that all institutional meetings and struggles are only valid if the population does its part

The mayor of Brava defended today that all the meetings and fights that entities and institutions are doing to prevent and prevent the entry of covid-19 on the island are only valid if the population does its part.

Francisco Tavares was speaking to the press after a meeting with the Minister of Health and other entities that accompanied the minister, which the mayor considered to be “very fruitful”.

“It is clear that all these institutional meetings, the constant articulation meetings between the Health Department, the city council, Civil Protection, National Police, Enapor and other institutions are only worthwhile if the population does its part”, said the mayor. .

The mayor considered that the government official’s visit came at a “good time”, since according to him, the neighboring island of Fogo already has several positive cases of covid-19, and Brava, even though it is the only one that still has no cases. positives, it's a matter of time.

From there, he said that the visit served to learn 'in loco' of the conditions on the island and, in addition, served to "better articulation" between all local structures, regional centers and other institutions of the measures to be taken to prevent and if positive cases arise to “mitigate as much as possible” their spread within the island.

As mayor, he stressed that he demonstrated his concerns regarding the sanitary conditions and even the physical space for hospitalization of several patients, as well as the need and the possibility of having to transport a possible patient in a more acute case to the São Filipe regional hospital.

Also, at this meeting, the mayor stressed that there was a reinforcement of articulation with the Civil Protection and the Health Department in the sense of “doing the maximum and very well articulated to minimize and mitigate what may turn out to be the problems of positive cases in the Angry”.
