Djibouti asks Cape Verde to support its candidacy for the leadership of the African Union Commission
The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, received this morning the Minister of Women and Family of Djibouti, Mrs. Mouna Osman Aden, special envoy of President Ismaël Omar Guelleh, who arrives in Cape Verde with the mission of presenting and requesting our country's support for the candidacy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Djibouti diplomat, Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, to the Presidency of the African Union Commission. Furthermore, Aden stressed Djibouti's interest in establishing fruitful cooperation with Cape Verde, based on the strategic positions of both countries in their respective regions.
Djibouti, explained the minister, in an interview with the media, after leaving the meeting with President Neves, has “an inclusive vision that places the African people at the center of the actions of the African Union”.
The special envoy of the Head of State of Djibouti highlights the importance of Cape Verde's support for her country's candidacy, since our countries share the vision “of a stronger, more supportive Africa, capable of facing challenges together.
