The Cape Verde Electricity Distribution Company (EDEC) announced today that the electricity supply on the island of Brava has been completely restored following a fault that affected several localities in the region's highlands.

According to EDEC, the interruption occurred due to a fault in a section of underground cable, causing inconvenience for residents of Mato Grande, Mato, Nossa Senhora do Monte, Cova Joana, Cachaço, Lomba Tantum and Fajã de Água. During the outage, residents reported difficulties and damage caused by the lack of electricity.

The supply was normalized with the connection of the town of Fajã d'Água at 15:30, after detailed inspections and tests on the electricity network. The company thanked the population for their support and understanding during the repair process.
