According to Alves, during his visit, he noticed that the parish of Nossa Senhora do Monte is being treated unequally compared to other areas of the island. In a statement, he said: “What I saw was worrying. It seems that Nossa Senhora do Monte is being treated like a slum, while other areas are called Dubai. The candidates should start presenting, from now on, what they intend to do to transform the reality of our parish.”

Oliveiro Alves’ appeal comes at a crucial time, with municipal elections approaching and the local community expecting solutions to the challenges they face. He stressed the need for effective planning and actions that promote equity in the island’s development.

Candidates for the Brava City Council now have the opportunity to respond to these concerns and present their proposals to improve infrastructure and services in Nossa Senhora do Monte, seeking a fairer and more balanced development for the entire island.
