Employment Center will train around 350 people from the Fogo/Brava Region within the framework of productive inclusion
The Fogo and Brava Employment and Professional Training Center (CEFP) will train 340 people from the two islands in entrepreneurship, within the framework of the Productive Inclusion Program.
To this end, CEFP signed a negotiation draft and a memorandum of understanding with the Government, through the Special Project Management Unit (UGPE) in the amount of 6,800 contos to promote entrepreneurship training activities, namely financial education, 'Get Ahead' and other specific areas.
The training will cover 340 people from the four municipalities, 100 in the municipality of São Filipe, 100 in Santa Catarina do Fogo, 80 people from Ilha Brava and 60 from the municipality of Mosteiros.
According to a note from CEFP, the center's four focal points, who are members of the region's four screening and selection committees, are finalizing, together with each city council and the Cape Verde Women's Organization (OMCV), the process of choosing beneficiaries
The note also states that in the municipalities of São Filipe and Santa Catarina do Fogo the selection processes have already been completed, while in Brava and Mosteiros the first meetings, for this purpose, were held on Wednesday, 20th.
The start of training actions is scheduled for January 8, 2024 and, for this purpose, 17 classes will be created, five in São Filipe and Santa Catarina, four in Brava and three in Mosteiros.
In the press release, CEFP states that this is an “interesting project” of inclusion/empowerment, essentially for women aged up to 50 years, in a situation of greater social and economic vulnerability and, preferably, with children under their responsibilities.
After training, each beneficiary will receive around 40 thousand escudos as an incentive to start their business.
