Mr. President of the National Assembly

Members of the government.

Fellow Members of Parliament

Fellow Cape Verdeans, in the Country and in the Diaspora

Good morning!

Mr. Pr. First of all, allow me to express through the pulpit of this parliamentary house, my solidarity with the young entrepreneurs who lost their property following the fire that occurred yesterday in the shopping center in Nova Sintra, I appeal to the local and national authorities to support them as a way of compensating them for the material losses that have occurred.

Today being Cape Verdean Women's Day, I salute all women from Brava to Santo Antão. And yesterday was also a very special day as we debated with the Prime Minister the policies aimed at Cape Verdean women.

As a member of parliament from Djabraba, I am close to the population to find out about the state of development of our island and to demand projects and programs for my beloved municipality.

The work on the Sea Water Desalination Plant - Brava (EDAM - Brava) from Furna is progressing apace, marking a significant new phase in the project that aims to definitively solve the island's water supply challenges. Following the completion of the access road, assembly of the construction site, earthworks and the creation of a water collection point, the desalination structures and equipment are now ready.

The Bravense community expresses its deep gratitude to the Government of Cape Verde, under the leadership of Ulisses Correia e Silva, and to Luxembourg Cooperation, for the partnership that has made this important project possible. This project represents not only a solution to water scarcity, but also a giant step forward in the sustainable development of this island paradise.

The desalination plant will have the capacity to process 1,100 cubic meters of water per day, double the flow that is now supplied.

The completion of the Desalination Plant not only secures the water supply, but also promises to boost development and quality of life on the Brava.

Mr. President of the National Assembly

Another long-awaited project is the construction of the new Brava Health Centre, which will cost more than two hundred thousand escudos. The project will revolutionize the local health system, offering better conditions for the population.

The new structure will have modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, which will meet the growing demand for health services in the region. With the construction of the new center, it is hoped not only to improve the quality of medical care, but also to contribute to the education and training of health professionals on the island.

We have more good news from the government led by Ulisses Correia e Silva, especially the announcement that work on the road linking Esparadinha/Fajã and Palhal will start "soon", with an investment of more than 258,000 Cape Verdean contos. It will create better safety conditions for road users. In addition, the infrastructure will enhance the entire coastal area, including Porteti Beach. Approximately 4.5 kilometers long, it will be an alternative solution for connections between the towns and could solve the current connection problems.

More than 23,000 escudos have already been spent on maintenance work on the road, following a landslide in September last year.

We never tire of saying that we have a Prime Minister who, through the principle of subsidiarity, knows how to find solutions with the people and the islands in mind.
