It is, exactly, 5,396,352$00 net, which Débora Katiza Carvalho, girlfriend of the President of the Republic, received illegally.

The conclusion is from the General Inspectorate of Finance and is included in the report prepared on the financial expenses of the Presidency of the Republic, which has just been made public.

The Inspectors analyzed a series of documents and after recording the Presidency's contradiction, they point to the replacement of the amount paid illegally on the orders of José Maria Neves.

Over the course of 24 months, between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2023, the PR's partner received a salary illegally. The $310,606.00 multiplied by 24 months totals $7,441,584.00 gross. The replacement is the net amount in the order of $5,396,352.00 net.

The report points out that the First Lady “is not an elected position”, which in the opinion of the Inspectors “makes it impossible to set a remuneration”, meaning that any and all amounts paid to the PR’s partner “are irregular and have no support in the legislation in force”.

The dense report refers to other illegalities in the financial management of the Presidency of the Republic.
