Eunice Silva made this announcement in Parliament, in response to the deputy of the Movement for Democracy (MpD) for the electoral district of Brava Island, Fernanda Burgo, on the current status of the construction of the alternative road from Esparadinha/Palhal.

“It is an important road for this island, but its construction is very complex”, he stated, highlighting that this four-kilometre road has “complicated” landslides, similar to what happens in other areas of this island and in other parts of the country.

The official also added that around 30% of road debris in Cape Verde, particularly in mountainous areas, are subject to landslides, considering that such cases are frequent on this island.

In turn, the MpD deputy for the Praia constituency, Lúcia Passos, asked the minister about the progress of the project to build the national hospital, but the minister said, in response, that she did not have details about the project. The minister promised, however, to inform the ministry and then send a written response.

In addition to these questions, several MPs asked the minister about the progress of construction, asphalting, road requalification and infrastructure projects on different islands and municipalities.

The minister, for her part, answered most of the questions from the deputies, but in relation to others she said that she had to look at the technical part, because the questions were addressed to her only one day before the plenary session, and she had to ask the government departments for information to give a clearer answer to the deputies.

Even so, he said that several municipalities will benefit from asphalting and road requalification and that in 2025 several works will be inaugurated in Cape Verde.

The first plenary session of December ended today, taking into account that the topics on the agenda were exhausted, the last of which were questions to the Government, particularly to the Minister of Infrastructure, Spatial Planning and Housing, Eunice Silva.
