Government of Cape Verde "NEGA" tarmac road to Nossa Senhora do Monte, without ANY challenge from Câmara da Brava
We are in the month of November 2019, and the rehabilitation works of Estrada Nova Sintra - Nossa Senhora do Monte will begin.
We are in the month of November 2019, and the rehabilitation works of Estrada Nova Sintra - Nossa Senhora do Monte will begin.
At a time when Engineers from the Instituto de Estradas de Cabo Verde had already been to the Island, information was already available that the road connecting Nossa Senhora do Monte to the City of Nova Sintra and vice versa would not be tarred, and would only receive another paving.
At this moment, when it appears that the company Elevo has already installed itself at the Ponta Achada shipyard, there is an absolute silence of acceptance on the part of the Municipality of Brava, with this position of disregard of the Government of Cape Verde towards the population of Nossa Senhora of Monte and the whole Island.
The PAICV does not accept and will not conform to this indifference by the Government of Cape Verde towards our Island and will not remain silent in the face of this lack of vision for the future of our Island.
We appeal to the President of the Chamber of Brava to speak out and demand, on behalf of all, a change of position in relation to this road, which is one of the most important roads on our island.
Nossa Senhora do Monte is the second most populous area on Ilha Brava and is one of the most important commercial points on our island. Now let the island be equipped with a tarred road from Nova Sintra to Nossa Senhora do Monte, so that Brava can also advance towards its development.
Brava will not achieve the desired development if we are not firm in our objectives of having modern infrastructures.
There is unequivocal data that the cost that our drivers and the population are having with the current road far exceeds the expense that the Government would have to tar the same road.
And it is known that the cost of installing a base for the production of tar and products for the soil is around 200 million escudos. And that's why we ask: Can't the Government of Cape Verde spend PTE 200,000 on Brava? Are we not Cape Verde?
Why are we not treated as important and indispensable for Cape Verde and continue to be forgotten by this Government?
The PAICV on Brava calls for thinking about the future of our Island so that we also have our opportunity to achieve the expected development.
WITHOUT INVESTMENT THERE WILL BE NO DEVELOPMENT.
We await the pronouncement of the Mayor of Brava and the Prime Minister of Cape Verde.
And we will fight for this investment to be realized.
The MPD PROMISED this paved road to the people of Brave, now we await the FULFILLMENT OF THE PROMISE.
For the brave, always!
