Within the scope of negotiations with the three teachers' unions, the Ministry of Education showed full availability and openness to new meetings, whether jointly or separately, based on the interest and availability of the three teachers' unions, namely SINDEP, SIPROFIS and SINDPROF.
The meetings proposed and scheduled at the initiative of the Ministry of Education were precisely aimed at addressing the methodology for operationalizing the salary adjustment for teachers and respective value references, as transcribed in the draft memorandum of agreement for the three unions.
SIPROFIS and SINDEP confirmed their interest and availability in meeting with the Minister of Education to learn about the Government's proposals regarding the operationalization of teachers' salary adjustments, so on December 21, 2023 the Minister of Education met with the SIPROFIS and on December 27th met with SINDEP, depending on their agendas.
The Ministry of Education presented proposals for stabilizing teachers' careers to these two unions, with a commitment for them to analyze the memorandum of Agreement and with a view to reaching an understanding between the parties.
Regarding SINDPROF, a meeting was not possible because this Union has repeatedly expressed its unavailability, but the Ministry of Education remains open and available for a meeting with this union, having once again proposed a new date which has not yet been accepted.
