US immigrants donate equipment to Nossa Senhora do Monte team.
Friends and former players of the Nossa Senhora do Monte team, who currently live in the United States of America, have once again shown their love for their homeland and their commitment to the development of the island of Brava by sending new sports equipment to the local team.
This symbolic but meaningful gesture shows the strong bond that our emigrants have with their community. Among the main promoters of this initiative is Junior Gomes , better known as TXITXO, who, along with other friends and colleagues, joined forces to ensure that the team from his locality had more dignified conditions to represent Nossa Senhora do Monte on the pitch.
The action of these brave sons of the soil is a clear example of solidarity and community spirit, and should serve as an inspiration to all emigrants and people with possibilities to contribute to the sporting, cultural and social progress of their places of origin.
Migrants have, over the years, played an extremely important role in the development of Brava and Cape Verde in general, and initiatives such as this one reinforce that role even more. May this gesture be just one of many steps towards a community that is more united and strengthened by the contribution of its children scattered around the world.
