The inauguration of the new heads of the Municipal Bodies of Brava will be on December 20th
City of Nova Sintra, December 14, 2024 (Bravanews) - The inauguration of the new municipal officials resulting from the elections of December 1, 2024 will take place on December 20, at 10:00 am, in a ceremony that will be presided over by the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Gilberto Silva, representing the Government. The event will mark the transition to the new mandates of the main municipal authorities of the island of Brava, in the archipelago of Cape Verde.
During the ceremony, Amandio Brito , elected President of the Brava City Council, and Ivone Cardoso , elected President of the Brava Municipal Assembly, will take office in their respective positions, assuming the functions of leading local bodies and beginning a new administrative cycle for the municipality. The elected Councilors (4) and municipal deputies (12) will also take office.
The election, which took place in early December, was an important milestone for Brava, bringing in a new set of municipal leaders chosen by the population, who will now be responsible for governing and legislating for the development of the island.
