Ilha Brava mourns Beyona, one of the greatest athletes of her time and a human being like no other
With deep sadness we received the news of the passing of Beyona, an extraordinary player from the 1990s and 2000s, who left an indelible mark on the Brava fields. Beyona, whose first steps were taken in the Zona team (Gambia), aroused the interest of Académica, where she shone brightly. His career was marked by successful spells for teams such as Nô Pintcha and Morabeza, in addition to standing out as an undisputed starter in the Brava team.
One of the moments Beyona's most memorable was in the final of the Brazilian championship between Nô Pintcha and Benfica de Nossa Senhora do Monte, where, after Nô Pintcha was losing by one goal to zero, he scored five decisive goals, guaranteeing the title for his team. Known for his spectacular skill, unstoppable speed and refined technique, Beyona was feared as one of the most talented wingers in the league.
