MAKE BRAVA MORE BEAUTIFUL AND COMPLY WITH THE LAW - Note from Brava City Council
One of BRAVA'S BRANDS: WHITE and GRAY in the external paintwork of buildings. By painting the buildings in this way, you will be HELPING THE ISLAND to maintain something unique and particular in Cape Verde and will be complying with MUNICIPAL POSITIONS. THE BRAVA MUNICIPAL CODE OF POSTURES REQUIRES PAINTING IN THIS WAY in its Article 194:
Special aesthetic conditions
1. In the Municipality's population centers, the use of materials, construction processes and colors is only permitted, as long as they properly fit into the landscape and with a favorable opinion from the competent services of the City Council;
2. In the Historic Center and throughout the City of Nova Sintra, it is mandatory to paint the facades of all buildings with white and gray colors resulting from a mixture in the ratio of 1 black unit per 7.5 white units;
3. For the purposes of the provisions of the previous number, the pieces of the respective process must be expressly and clearly identified all the materials and colors to be used in the construction.
4. All owners of buildings that, at the moment, are painted in colors other than those listed in number 2, are granted a period of 6 months, from the date of their notification, to carry out the painting accordingly.
5. For non-compliance with the provisions of numbers 2 and 4, a fine of 10,000$00 to 50,000$00 will be imposed.
I am pleased to recognize that many owners, after notification from the CMB, have reverted the paintwork to WHITE AND GRAY.
On the contrary, we have seen that some owners persist in not COMPLYING with the code of posture and some have even removed WHITE AND GRAY to introduce other colors, distorting the beauty of our city and island.
CONTRIBUTE TO BETTER BRAVA.
