Brava: City Council wants to see Fajã d´Água transformed into a tourist village

Speaking to Inforpress, Francisco Tavares informed that there are three technicians on the island collecting information for the elaboration of the respective projects that will later be worked on and implemented for the “transformation” of this locality.
According to the same source, the Tourist Villages project intends to invest around 40 thousand escudos in Brava, which will be used for the transformation of the community of Fajã d´Água, the village chosen to be a beneficiary of the project.
With this value, it showed that infrastructure improvements will be made, creating better conditions for the village as a tourist destination, which also implies interventions in people's homes, such as the construction of bathrooms and rooms to receive tourists.
Likewise, improvements will be made to the side roads that give access to Fajã d´Água, training will be given to all economic operators in the locality, both in the area of hotels and in restaurants and bars.
In this same project, it is intended to reclassify the waterfront of Fajã d´Água, the square in honor of those who lost their journey to the United States, in Matilde, among other interventions.
Meanwhile, the mayor advanced that the "ambition" of the city council team is to invest more values, in order to be able to carry out other works, which would include some improvements in the area surrounding the natural pools, namely with the construction of spas, a small place for the acquisition of water, soda, among others, but made it clear that they do not intend to intervene in what is the natural beauty of the place.
In addition to interventions in the area of natural pools, Francisco Tavares also announced the idea of having a large artificial pool in this location, with restaurants, stressing that the multipurpose area in the area that is almost not being used would be an “ideal” space for this work.
This project "will transform Fajã d´Água into a more attractive place and help to retain more people to develop small businesses, have more customers in hotel units, as well as the development of local fishing", said the mayor, reinforcing that it will pass on There will be an area with an economic dynamic aimed at greater tourism, beneficial for the island and the population itself, which will have greater sources of income.
