The management of the company “Moave – Moagem de Cabo Verde” delivered today a set of different equipment to the Brava Health Department.
The handover was witnessed by the general director of Moave, Vera da Luz, by the mayor of Brava, Francisco Tavares, and by the substitute Health delegate, the doctor Mercedes Blanco.
On the occasion, Vera da Luz said that this action is part of Moave's social policy, with the aim of contributing to improving the quality of life of the population on all the islands, with health at the forefront.
The equipment delivered, according to the person in charge, was selected by the health department itself, being an electrocardiogram, a fetal monitor, anti-bedsore mattresses, saws to cut the plaster, among others.
Moave has benefited one island per year, and Boa Vista, Fogo, Santo Antão, São Vicente, São Nicolau and now Brava have already entered this package, but it is a sector that the company will always be attentive to support.
On the part of the Health Department, the doctor replacing the delegate, Mercedes Blanco, stressed that this equipment is extremely important, as it will allow a better diagnosis of patients.
The person in charge thanked Moave for the gesture, explaining that the electrocardiogram is very important for medical work, especially in the evaluation of a patient with a cardiovascular disorder.
The Health Delegate recalled that during the year that she is in service at the local Health Delegacy, patients are often transferred to the island of Fogo to carry out this examination, which now will not be necessary.
Regarding the fetal monitor, he stressed that it is possible to give a different treatment to pregnant women, as the equipment helps doctors to control the time to transfer the pregnant woman to have a child in Fogo or if she can give birth right here in Brava.
All the equipment will make a “big difference” in the daily lives of doctors and the health team, but even more so in the lives of patients, as the doctor highlighted that they are very important equipment that, in addition to allowing a more complete diagnosis, avoid patient transfers without prior knowledge of what they have.
This delivery was made as part of the commemorative activities alluding to the Municipality Day, celebrated on the 24th of June.
