"The worst fire ever, there is no memory of anything like it ." This is how the president of the Sever do Vouga Chamber, Pedro Lobo, describes to TSF the situation in the municipality, noting that dozens of families had to abandon their homes.

During the early hours of the morning, another fire broke out and, the mayor assures, it was arson: "On the one hand, there were no flames anywhere that could have caused the fire, on the other hand, because there are witnesses who saw the fire itself being set and the car fleeing towards the Águeda area."

There is a lack of hands: " We need men, we need vehicles and we need them quickly ." Therefore, Pedro Lobo asks people to unite "to help each other fight the flames close to their homes, close to their neighbors."

"We are trying to reach everywhere, but the way things are, it is impossible for us to reach everywhere," he further emphasizes.
