The event took place at the Santana multipurpose center and was attended by eighteen candidates from different locations on the island of Brava, with nine candidates for 'miss' and the other half candidates for 'mister'.
The First Lady and Gentleman's ribbon went to participants Catiliana Furtado and Devin Garcia, however, candidate Viviane Tavares was the most awarded of the night, winning three ribbons: Miss Popular, Miss Photogenic and also Second Lady.
Meanwhile, candidates Margarete Ribeiro and Joey de Pina were elected miss and mister Simpatia 2024.
Speaking to Inforpress, Miss São João 2024, who is 16 years old, was very emotional and highlighted that she was not expecting this award, but that from the beginning she started to believe and in the end she got it.
“The objective here at Brava, thank God, I achieved it but I know that now the responsibility will increase. I can't say that I'm prepared, given that this was my first experience as a participant, but I promise to do my best to represent my island in the best possible way, at a national level”, he assured.
In turn, the elected 'mister' Brava, Maurício Dias, who is 19 years old, also stressed that he was not expecting the prize although he guarantees that he came to win, just like all the other candidates and the objective was achieved.
“I know that from now on the responsibility has increased, but today I will believe in myself more”, he said.
Nelson Miranda, a member of the organization, gave a positive assessment of the event, highlighting that the feeling was one of “duty accomplished”, as they managed to achieve their objectives, given that, according to him, it was a “quality” event.
“Based on the reaction of the people who were present, we certainly achieved what we expected, as we are all to be congratulated on our civility, in other words, I think we even exceeded our expectations in relation to the previous year”, he highlighted.
The person responsible showed complete willingness to re-apply to hold the competition next year, taking into account that they are holding a quality event.
