Minister Rui Figueiredo Soares visits the University of Macau and meets Cape Verdean students
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration, Rui Figueiredo, visited the University of Macau, as part of a working visit to the People's Republic of China.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration, Rui Figueiredo, visited the University of Macau, as part of a working visit to the People's Republic of China.
During this visit that took place on February 10, the head of Cape Verdean diplomacy, accompanied by the representative of Cape Verde at the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Commercial Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macau), Nuno Furtado, was received by the Rector of the University of Macau (UM), Yonghua Song and by the Vice-Rector Rui Martins, among other UM representatives.
The Minister was presented with UM's recent developments, its cooperation with higher education institutions in Cape Verde and the situation of Cape Verdean students at that University.
The Cape Verdean official expressed his pleasure at visiting the UM campus, showing himself satisfied with what he saw, underlining that the UM Law courses have attracted many students from Portuguese-speaking countries, even needing that some UM graduates from Cape Verde who returned home took on important positions in the country.
Still at that university, the Minister visited the Faculty of Law (FLL), getting to know better its facilities, such as the Moot Court, the Institute for Advanced Legal Studies and the Center for Legal Studies.
Rui Figueiredo also visited the UM's University Gallery and Wu Yee Sun Library and on the sidelines of this visit he met with Cape Verdean UM students to find out about their studies and life at the university.
