Brava City Council Supports Carnival 2025 with 373 Tales
Brava Town Hall has announced support of 373 contos for Carnival 2025, with subsidies and prizes for the participating groups. The event will feature two official groups, as well as surprise and animation ensembles. The main parade will take place on March 4 in Nova Sintra.
The Brava City Council has announced an investment of 373 contos to support the holding of Carnival 2025, including subsidies and prizes for the official groups and surprise ensembles.
According to councillor Aliana Andrade, only two official groups have signed up this year: "Amigos de Cova Rodela", which is making its debut at the festival, and "Riba D'Ora". Both have already received a starting subsidy of 50,000 escudos.
The main prizes include:
- 100 thousand escudos for first place;
- 80 thousand escudos for second place;
- 12 thousand escudos for the best King and Queen of Carnival;
- 15 thousand escudos for the best float;
- 12 thousand escudos for the best song chosen by the judges;
- 25 thousand escudos for the best stage sound;
- 17 thousand escudos for the surprise group.
The official parade will take place on March 4, starting at 16h, in the town of Nova Sintra, with the participation of entertainment groups that promise to shake up the streets of the island.
