National Under-19 Football Championship shakes Cape Verde
The Cape Verde U19 National Football Championship is about to begin, with the best teams from the different islands facing each other in search of the title.
Cape Verdean grassroots football is about to experience moments of great excitement with the U-19 National Championship. The competition, which will take place between the 2nd and 10th of August, will feature the participation of the main teams from the different islands of the archipelago.
The Cape Verdean Football Federation announced the format of the competition, which will be played in two phases: the group stage and the knockout stage. The teams will be divided into two groups: Group A, based in São Vicente, and Group B, based in Praia.
Group A will have the participation of Académica do Porto Novo, Bola Pra Frente, Batuque and a representative from the island of Sal yet to be defined. Group B will have the EPIF teams, the champion of Santiago Norte, Sporting da Boa Vista and Sumbango.
The semi-finals will be played on August 8th, at the Adérito Sena Stadium, and the grand final is scheduled for August 10th, at the same location. The expectation is that the competition will be a success and reveal new talents for Cape Verdean football.
