Nhô Santo António/Brava: Popular dance marked by the “poor turnout” of the public and a four-hour delay

The popular dance held on Saturday night at the Lém multi-purpose venue, as part of the Santo António festivities, was marked by the “poor turnout” of the public and a four-hour delay in starting.

The event, which was scheduled to start at 23:00, started only after 02:00 in the morning and the opening was in charge of the artist RLove, followed by Marcos D´Mana.

Rosa and Banda continued the show, presenting a mixed repertoire, in an attempt to “satisfy the public” that vibrated with the band in traditional music, reggae, zouk and Brazilian music.

Léo Pereira, the headliner and the “most anticipated” artist at the event, closed the popular dance Nhô Santo António 2023 with a “golden key”, which ended around 06:00.

This artist also presented several of his songs, both old and recent, making people dance in pairs or even alone.

The public gave a negative rating to the event since, in addition to considering the price of the tickets (800 and 1000 escudos) “a little exaggerated”, they justify that the artists and the treatment that the public had was not worth this money, but also complained about the delay initial.

Speaking to Inforpress, Jeklin Gonçalves, one of the members of the organization, lamented the “fiasco” that was the popular ball, emphasizing that the movement in the previous year was “much greater”, but that it is not known what happened, if it is due movement in the stalls of São João or for other unknown reasons.

As for occurrences, he stressed that everything went on as normal, that is, with no incidents.

Today, the 11th, some sports activities are scheduled, such as donkey racing, athletics competitions, among others, but also on a cultural level, the day before eve is scheduled, the famous and traditional “pylon” of the flag festivals on the island.

For the 12th, vespers, the blessing of the flag are scheduled and the high point of these festivities takes place on Tuesday the 13th, St. from the solemn mass and procession, the traditional lunch and at the end of the day the boat to the mast.
