Grupo Orfeão Bravense takes to the streets of Nova Sintra today in a serenade in celebration of National Culture Day

Orfeão Bravense, a group with a recent but rich history and a lasting legacy, makes a point of bringing joy and culture to the streets of Nova Sintra. The serenade, which will begin at nightfall, will attract residents and visitors who will gather to enjoy traditional Brava and Cape Verdean music and exciting interpretations by the group's members.

National Culture Day, celebrated on the occasion of the birth of Eugénio Tavares, the greatest poet, is a significant date in Cape Verde, marking the importance of preserving and celebrating the country's rich cultural traditions. Orfeão Bravense's serenade will be an exemplary expression of this commitment to culture, uniting generations and honoring Cape Verdean roots.

The group will sing songs that represent the soul of Cape Verde and Brava, necessarily including mornas composed by the aforementioned Eugénio Tavares, but without forgetting many other composers.
