PAICV/BRAVA denounces diversion of funds destined for the Nossa Senhora do Monte road

ESTRADA DE NOSSADAS DO MONTE FINALLY WILL ONLY RECEIVE 40% OF THE EXPECTED AMOUNT, that is to say around 50 million escudos.

It's regrettable every time we seek information about this Government's investments from the MPD to Brava and discover that it's all political marketing. UNFORTUNATE!

Recent information from those responsible for the work made the PAICV/Brava even sadder with the rehabilitation works on the Nova Sintra/Nossa Senhora do Monte road.

That is why we are once again DENOUNCING this lack of RESPECT and CONSIDERATION towards Isla Brava and the Bravenses.

Dear Bravense, as everyone already knows, and it appears on this page in a POST of December 12, 2019, about 1 (one) month ago, the Minister of Infrastructures Engineer Eunice Silva, told the nation in parliament that the works will cost 200 thousand tales of Nova Sintra, for the 2 (two) following routes, Nossa Senhora do Monte and Fajâ Dagua.

But what they didn't say at the time is that only and we repeat ONLY 40% of this amount will actually be put on the Nossa Senhora do Monte/Nova Sintra road. Because the remaining 60% will all be placed on the Nova Sintra/Fajâ Dagua road, which will therefore consume most of this amount.

Firstly, because it is more distant and secondly, because it is more demanding for Fajâ Dagua.
.
Here it is clear that the Government is using this resource only for aesthetic works, only what people are seeing in front of it, and does not want to spend money on BRAVA.

IT'S A LACK OF RESPECT!

Therefore, only 50 million contos will be spent on the road to Nossa Senhora do Monte. NHOS HAS RUSPETU PA NÓS!

And in this way, the Nova Sintra/Nossa Senhora do Monte road will only be 5 (five) meters wide, no protection or reinforcement will be made in the most dangerous areas for the streams, and the only thing that will be done is the removal and sidewalk replacement. JUST THAT!

It is a SHAME what is being done to our island.
