PAICV/Brava reminds the Mayor of Brava that the grass field in Nossa Senhora do Monte was a 2012 campaign promise

City of Nova Sintra, February 18, 2024 (Bravanews) - The African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV) on the island of Brava reminded the Mayor of Brava, Francisco Tavares, that the construction of a grass field in Nossa Senhora do Monte was a campaign promise in 2012. The memory was made by the president of the PAICV Regional Political Commission in Brava, Carlinhos Martins, in a video published on social media. Martins highlighted the importance of the grass field for the development of sport on the island, highlighting that the infrastructure would benefit not only athletes, but the entire community.

"It is important that the promises made to the people of Brava are fulfilled, especially those that have such a significant impact on the sporting and social development of our island", stated Martins.

The grass field in Nossa Senhora do Monte was one of the main campaign promises of the then Mayor of the City Council, Orlando Balla, in 2012, but so far it has not been implemented. Remembering that at the time, Francisco Tavares was running for councilor, later taking on the sports portfolio.

The lack of adequate sports infrastructure has been a concern for local athletes, who have faced difficulties in training and competing.

PAICV in Brava has committed to continuing to put pressure on local authorities to ensure that the promise is fulfilled, ensuring that the grass field in Nossa Senhora do Monte will soon be a reality.
