Parliament: Second parliamentary session of December suspended due to non-approval of the agenda
The second plenary session of December was suspended today due to the non-approval of the agenda, as a result of the different understanding of the bill that approves the PCFR for teaching staff.
According to Inforpress, the draft agenda was rejected with 32 votes in favor of the Movement for Democracy (MpD), 18 votes against from the African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV) and two abstentions from the Independent and Democratic Cape Verdean Union (UCID).
The approval of the agenda, in accordance with the rules of procedure, according to the president of the National Assembly, requires at least 37 deputies.
“ If this number is not available, the project will be rejected and we will not have a plenary session and each person will have to draw their own conclusions ”, declared Austelino Correia.
The agenda included the bill approving the Career, Functions and Remuneration Plan (PCFR) for teaching staff, the proposal creating a special income as a counterpart to the right of use, which defines the form of payment for the costs of public lighting, and which makes the third alteration to the Bases of the Electrical System.
According to this newspaper's source, the draft resolution regulating the travel allowance for deputies was also on the agenda.
