Porto Novo welcomes a cruise ship with more than 500 tourists on board

Porto Novo, in Santo Antão, received a cruise ship stopover today, the first of 2023, the year in which 14 stopovers are scheduled.

The vessel Vasco da Gama called Porto Novo today, with more than 500 tourists on board, a fact that left tour operators satisfied with the “unusual” movement that it brought to the island of Santo Antão.

Since October, with the start of the cruise season, Porto Novo has been receiving several cruise ships with “hundreds” of tourists on board.

The Porto Novo City Council was delighted with the dynamics that this tourism segment is gaining in Santo Antão, which, it believes, is entering a “new chapter” in this sector, after the covid-19 pandemic.

Porto Novo receives, until the end of the cruise tourism season, in May, seven cruise ship calls.

Throughout this year, 2023, a total of 14 calls are planned in the port of Porto Novo.
