This will be the main challenge for the health sector on the island of Brava, noted the Head of State, after visiting the health department, this Tuesday. Neves who was received by the Delegate of the Ministry of Health, Hélder Pires and by the Deputy Secretary of State of the Minister of Health, Evandro Monteiro, who presented to the Head of State the gains and some challenges that Flores Island still faces in the sector.
If it is true that the Coast Guard vessel placed in the port of Furna has recently allowed this issue to be improved, it is the local health delegate himself who admits the need to increase the frequency of maritime transport.
After a guided tour, José Maria Neves recognized that there had been some improvements in terms of health, namely in terms of human resources (three doctors and 13 nurses), as well as in terms of equipment.
Still with regard to the constraints in the provision of health care, the lack of specialists is pointed out, namely in the area of gynecology.
