Praia/Autárquicas: PAICV highlights a prism of positivity and promise to implement CMP’s plans and projects in 2024

According to Inforpress, Carlos Tavares made these statements to the press, at the end of a meeting between PAICV deputies elected by the Santiago Sul circle and the president of Praia City Council, Francisco Carvalho, this Wednesday, which aimed to find out about the Praia city council's municipal projects for this year and send a happy new year message.

“I would like to highlight that we were very satisfied with the prism of positivity that we found in the president and the entire municipal team, with the guarantee of continuity of actions in the different areas of municipal activity, execution of works, improvement of the quality of life of citizens, promotion of culture and continuity of the policy of rigor and transparency that have always guided this team led by Francisco Carvalho and others ”, he declared.

The parliamentarian criticized, however, the “ attacks ” that the Praia chamber has suffered from the Government, which, he said, has carried out actions in the municipality of Praia, which fall under the authority of the municipality and without the knowledge of the CMP.

“It is unacceptable for the Government to proceed with actions to renovate ceilings and bathrooms in Praia, without giving the council a hard time, in fact this is an activity that should be carried out by the municipal council and not by the Government, which, in turn, can develop programs, lines of financing. We also have the Maritime Port Institute granting licenses for the construction of works on the seafront without the knowledge of the city council”, he also pointed out according to Inforpress,

For the deputy, the Government's actions demonstrate that there is a setback in terms of municipalism in Cape Verde, highlighting, however, that despite all the obstacles and attacks, the municipal team is motivated to fulfill the promises made to citizens and the plan for municipal governance.

Carlos Tavares He also expressed himself “satisfied” with the announcement of the public tender made by CMP for the asphalting works in the Pensamento-São Pedro neighborhood that will soon be carried out.

“ The asphalting work will begin on the road to São Pedro, this is an old demand from the residents, it will be carried out before the local elections and will significantly improve the quality of the road and the residents ”, he concluded according to the source of this newspaper .
